Non-discrimination Policy

Our commitment

Listings, messages, and all other content on HomiesAbroad must not express a preference, limitation, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, family status, disability, age, veteran status, or any other class protected by applicable law.

This policy applies to all users, whether posting a room, looking for a roommate, or messaging through the platform.

How we enforce it

Our structured filters and search alerts are built to exclude person-characteristics by design. They cover only property facts and conduct rules: region, budget, dates, room and property type, amenities, smoking, pets, parking, and similar. We never offer filters based on gender, religion, nationality, language, diet, or age.

We review reported content and remove listings or messages that violate this policy. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

Shared-living exception

People choosing who to share a home with may express personal compatibility preferences in their free-text description (for example, living habits or schedule). These preferences are never turned into structured filters or used for search ranking. Content that crosses into unlawful housing discrimination will be removed.

Reporting a violation

If you encounter a listing, message, or user that you believe violates this policy, use the Report button on the listing or profile page. You can also contact us directly by email. We review every report and take action where warranted.
